Scan tipsOn-device: nothing is uploaded

U1Put the document flat on a plain, non-reflective surface.
U2Use even light. No flash. No direct glare on the card.
U3Hold the phone about 20 to 30 cm away, parallel to the card.
U4Fill the guide frame with the MRZ lines (the 2 or 3 lines at the bottom).
U5Keep both ends of every MRZ line inside the frame.
U6Hold still and wait for the camera to focus.
U7Any orientation is fine — upside down or sideways both work.
U8Flip the card: the MRZ is usually on the back of an ID card.
U9Any repaired character is a guess — check it against the document.
U10Retake when the gate keeps failing. Use Scan anyway only as a last resort.
